(NewsCore) -- A woman accused of setting a bikini dancer on fire at the Babes 'n' Beer club in California was convicted of felony mayhem and torture Thursday, counts that could lead to a life prison term.
However, the jury acquitted Rianne Theriault-Odom, 28, of attempted murder and attempted voluntary manslaughter in the February 2009 attack on Roberta Dos Santos Busby, 28.
Authorities said Theriault-Odom argued with the dancer outside the club in Tarzana, in the San Fernando Valley, then doused her with petrol and set her on fire.
Busby, a single mother of two, told the court she suffered burns to 40 percent of her body, spent five months in hospital and had 30 skin grafts since the attack.
The accused denied the charges, saying Busby had punched her and that someone else was responsible for pouring flammable liquid over the dancer.
The court was told that the feud between the two women developed when Theriault-Odom was rejected for a dancer's job at the bar.
Theriault-Odom was scheduled to be sentenced March 4.
